Our Mission at Wayfarer Green Travel

At Wayfarer Green Travel, we are dedicated to crafting unforgettable eco-adventures that not only inspire but also contribute to the preservation of our planet. Our mission is to offer sustainable travel experiences that foster a deep connection with nature while promoting environmental stewardship. Through our carefully curated tours and educational programs, we empower travelers and youth to become advocates for the environment, ensuring that our planet’s wonders are cherished and protected.

What We Do

Sustainable Eco-Tours

Immerse yourself in the beauty of untouched landscapes while contributing to conservation efforts. Our eco-tours are designed to minimize environmental impact and maximize cultural exchange.

Tour Guide Promotion Programs

A summer program that recruits and trains BYU students, many with international language skills, to serve as Wayfarer tour guides. Students gain hands-on guiding experience while supporting the cultural and language needs of our international travelers.

Youth Education Camps

Our camps provide young adventurers with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and a profound appreciation for nature through hands-on learning and exploration.

Our Four Main Goals

Science and Education

At Wayfarer, we understand the importance of educating the youth on how travel is affecting the natural world. We ensure that if there is an opportunity to educate more about the area, we do so by working with naturalists and knowledgeable guides to ensure a deeper understanding of the environment around you.

Environmental Preservation

The Great Salt Lake is shrinking, and its decline ripples across the wetlands, wildlife, and communities that depend on it. We are also seeing a great decline in monitored wildlife populations, down 73 percent since 1970. This is alarming to us, and in response, we look for partners who help us protect these populations and the habitats they depend on, from the lake’s vanishing shoreline to the wild horses that roam the surrounding range.

Respecting Utah's Cultures and Communities

Wayfarer is headquartered right here in Utah, and this is home for us. The history, traditions, and communities around the Great Salt Lake are part of our everyday lives, not just stops on a tour. Because we live here, respecting and preserving this place and its heritage is personal, and we are committed to keeping what makes this region special intact for the generations that follow.

Preserving Utah's Natural Beauty

At Wayfarer, we understand the importance of keeping Utah’s landscapes as beautiful as we found them. From the red rock canyons of the south to the wetlands of the Great Salt Lake, this is some of the most striking scenery in the country. We ensure that wherever we travel, we do so with care, by following low-impact practices and leaving no trace, so these places stay protected for the generations that follow.

Travel With Peace of Mind

The best trips are the ones you can fully relax into. Travel sometimes brings the unexpected, a canceled flight or a medical need far from home, and the right coverage keeps a small problem from derailing your journey. Through our travel insurance partner, you can find a plan that fits your trip. We recommend arranging it before you depart.
